Savonarola of the Rich

All philosophical or social movements have a vanguard, an individual or group of highly radical, intellectual, or charismatic leaders who spur on the masses. Today we have figures like Curtis Yarvin, but semi-academic shock-jocks have always existed: take for example the friar Girolamo Savonarola. As both have been the eminence-grise behind moralistic persecutions which benefit their own class, they are both depicted as the same figure in this portrait.
